On the other hand, the researcher analyzes the thoughts and feelings from working sheet. The research is carried out on fifth graders in Tainan City. The class that researcher teaches is the experimental group and another selected class is the controlled group. “The Math Diary Sheet”, designed by researcher, is the implement of the study. After the data was analyzed, the results of this research are briefly described as follows: a. There is no significant difference of math achievement between experimental and controlled groups, but students in the experimental group show greater improvement than those in the controlled group. b. There are significant differences of learning motivation in pre-test and post-test. The latter is better than that of the former. c. The utilities of math writing are as follows: 1. To reflect students comprehend concepts of the math. 2. To help self-examine about the process of problem solving 3. To perceive the comprehend concepts of the math 4. Be a diagnostic tool for teaching mathematics. d. Most of the students like mathematical writing activity of problem-solving and are willing to continue the writing activity, because they consider that the writing activity can help them think about mathematical problems and upgrade their academic performance. According to the research results of this research, some suggestions about mathematical writing and further studies are proposed.
