The Wai-Nian-Dian, located in Wanli, Tainan City, holds the Worship Ceremony of Wang Boat , demonstrating its Wang Boat in the rite of “Wang Boat patrolling on behalf of the heaven” and circle it around areas downstream from Er-ren Stream, where many temples have the relationship of the concept of social interaction with Wai-Nian-Dian. Therefore, the Worship Ceremony of Wang Boat is strongly connected in the history with those temples having the concept of social interaction. Moreover, those temples having the concept of social interaction play an inevitable part in the Worship Ceremony of Wang Boat The concept of social interaction means the emotional relationship among temples having the concept of social interaction. The Wanli Wai-Nian-Dian maintains the relationship of the concept of social interaction with its temples having the concept of social interaction by means of usual social interaction and reciprocal assistance during the time of rites. Those relationships can be clearly seen in the interpersonal relationship, the donating and receiving of goods, and participation in rites. Different behavior of interaction is demonstrated based on the friendship among temples. It is courtesy for temples to demonstrate their relationship through “objects” at the right time. Marce Mauss said in his theory that it is a way to establish, maintain or improve relationship through the exchange of “objects.” The presentation of “objects” is various, and, based on how strong the tie is between them, develops different forms of presentation and difference in quantity. All these develop into a system of interaction. As far as Wai-Nian-Dian is concerned, the relationship between temples having the concept of social interaction has changed with time. The reason for the concept of social interaction has changed from blood relation and geographical concerns in earlier times to the later ones containing the thoughts of the managers of the temple. Besides, there have always been temples having the concept of social interaction with the aim of exchanging religious experiences. The Wanli Wai-Nian-Dian not only forms friendship with temples having the concept of social interaction based on the above-mentioned reasons, but also develops various levels of interaction because of different duration and reasons of their relationship of the concept of social interaction. As a result, in the area where the Worship Ceremony of Wang Boat in Wai-Nian-Dian is held, it can be found that the relationship of temples having the concept of social interaction has been formed on the basis of mutual interpersonal interaction. No matter what the reason of the concept of social interaction is, the two parties concerned maintain the relationship in a way that can most express courtesy. Such a network of interaction plays an important role in the entire the Worship Ceremony of Wang Boat, and also contribute a lot to the cultural exchange and interpersonal relationship between these areas.
