Education is the fundamental of nation as the teacher is the key to the quality of education. The purpose of this study is to discuss the information literacy competence of teachers, the subjects are the new-employed primary and junior high school teachers in Taoyuan county who joined the information literacy learning and the information competence examination certification (Internet and Computing Core Certifications, IC3) in 2008 and 2009. With 173 valid samples, the results of information behavior questionnaires and interview were processed through quantitative and qualitative methods based on content analysis and survey research. The research findings are as followings: 1.There are significant differences on “gender”, ”school types”, ”age”, “vocation”, “affiliation”, “history of using computer”, “hours per week”, and “related kinds of international information certificates” between the information behavior questionnaires and information literacy competence of new-employed primary and junior high school teachers in Taoyuan county. 2.There are significant relevances on “affiliation”, “hours per week”, “IT related subjects”, and “related kinds of international information certificates” between the information behavior questionnaires and Internet and Computing Core Certifications of new-employed primary and junior high school teachers in Taoyuan county. 3.There are significant differences on “computing fundamental domain”, “key application”, and “living online” after grouped the new-employed primary and junior high school teachers in Taoyuan county. According to the results summarized and discussions in this research, it is suggested that teachers, all levels of schools and the related education organizations can make a reference for teacher’s information literacy courses, information literacy competence examination, and enhance the information literacy competence of primary and junior high school teachers.
