Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣海洋大學 === 電機工程學系 === 98 === Stimulated by the increasing popularity of wireless LANs, intensive attention has been received by the development of value-added services on such a new and convenient computing platform. Location-based services provide wireless LAN users with differentiated information based upon user locations, are considered particularly promising. However, to support location-based services in a wireless LAN requires an accurate positioning mechanism for mobile users in a typically complicated indoor environment. According to RSSI from user’s handy device, Wireless Location-aware system can detect position of user. In ours research, in order to increase the accurate of wireless location, this thesis proposes two approaches to indoor location estimation based on existing wireless LAN infrastructures. While our approach is based on the use of a statistical model, the other approach is Propagation Network model. Each approach has its own advantages and limitations. The performance of these two proposed approaches is demonstrated by tests performed in a real-world environment and one benchmark data set.
