Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北大學 === 犯罪學研究所 === 98 === The study aims at understanding the impact of various conflicts between students and teachers on the teacher-student relationships and how the background of faculty members may attribute to the nature of confrontations. The study incorporates questionnaire survey targeting at faculty members of 14 Taipei County high schools. Surveyed teachers are numbered and are distributed questionnaires through random sampling. 147 valid questionnaires were collected out of 200 samples selected from 824 teachers in the entire county. Collected questionnaires were organized by surveyors for statistical analysis and interpretation using frequency distribution, factor analysis, one-way and two-way ANOVA, and regression analysis. One finding of the experiment was the negative impact of confrontations on teacher-student relationships and vice versa. This circumstance then resulted in a vicious cycle leading to an exacerbation of the relationships and the degree of confrontations. In addition, 10% of confrontations constitutes nearly 40% of total confrontational incidents. The year of service was found to be the only factor in terms of faculty background that has a conspicuous impact on the type of confrontations. Suggestions regarding research and its future directions were offered based on the findings. The quantitative research from the teachers’ perspective is expected to center upon students or administer in-depth qualitative interviews with teachers prone to conflicts.
