Assaying the Shape and features in different periods of raditional architecture in Taiwan. Try to generalize thesubject matter from field investigation. Describing the effect on pedestal carving of traditional architecture in Taiwan, such as historical background；socio-cultural and the natural environment. Finally, presenting the maintenance recommendations of the pedestal of traditional architecture in Taiwan.The outlines of this thesis are as follow: Chapter I. : Describing the motivation and purpose of study, defining the scope of the study, Research methods and processes proposed, and results of previous studies reviewed. Chapter II.：First, discussed the pedestal of Chinese architecture development. Furthermore, generalizing the development of the pedestal of traditional architecture in Fujian and Guangdong. Finally, note the stone Sculpture and decorating techniques classification. Chapter III.：Visit Different periods of Taiwan's traditional architecture,Installment in accordance with their age lead to the Qing Dynasty, the Japanese colonial period, and post-war three stages. Assaying the shape evolution of the pedestal of traditional architecture in Taiwan . Chapter IV. : Analysis the pedestal of traditional building craft features in Taiwan. Discuss The moral of auspicious patterns and classified the decoration as plants, animals, people, objects and pattern. Chapter V. : Summarizes the results of surveys and research. presenting the maintenance recommendations of the pedestal of traditional architecture in Taiwan.
