The literature intends to study how Mr. Gaimam’s novels structured at a mimic space and how his roles interpreted the stories in the space. Thus, by means of mutual reactions with readers, he makes them produce magic power to create their own space to specify their views and aspects. The paper refers to the spatial features of Henri Lefebvre, respectively, spatial practice, representations of space, and representational space. These three elements make up the famous Trialectics of Spatiality to main frames which combined Edward Soja’s integration to develop the first, second, and third space of the literature. Simultaneously, the concepts of real space, fictionalized space and neterogeny space by Michel Foucault were used to interpret Gaiman theory: “the text is a space”. The first space was a selection of scenes and places in Gaiman’s story, which formulated specific areas and spatial combinations at each society. The second space was an artist’s imaginary space which was abstracted spatial concept. The lingual and graphical symbols were used to describe odd styles of Gaiman and present the contents of carnival. The third space was living space which power could reach for easily. The research is based on points of views related to spatial theory, literature and geography. I hope that the teenagers could understand the meaning of existence. Faith and spirit could extend to the real world and the lives would fulfill hope and miracle. Hopefully, the human concern could be structured through further considerations and vigilance in peaceful time. Tzu-Chang Chang 張子樟 2010 學位論文 ; thesis 92 zh-TW
