Description
Summary:碩士 === 中國文化大學 === 生活應用科學研究所 === 98 === This study is to explore the relationship between parental involvement and parenting stress of the aboriginal grandparents who are raising young grandchildren in Hualien and Taitung. A questionnaire survey was carried and 157 valid questionnaires were obtained and processed by SPSS 12.0 for window Package. It is found that the most involved aspect these grandparents get into is “taking care of young grandchildren’s living”. They report comparatively higher parenting stress in raising young children. In addition, their “parental involvement” and “parenting stress” significantly differ with their background characteristics, such as age, educational level, social-economic status, grandparenting types, grandparenting reasons, and raising willing. Also, there is a significantly positive relationship between ‘parental involvement’ and ‘parenting stress’. The result asserts to suggest that the aboriginal grandparents may learn to search for the help of social assistances to solve certain parenting problems; the parents can pay more attention to young children and grandparents as their absence of parenting; and the local schools and governments should organize the related parenting education or activities regularly in the community, which is accessible and essential to the grandparents in these remote areas in Taiwan.
