The purposes of this study are to investigate the covert messages of the double of the protagonist in psychodramas and to provide suggestions to those who are learning to be a proficient double according to the results of the study. The subjects are mainly at least the graduates of the department of counseling, clinical psychology, or social worker, and most of them possess training or experience of psychodrama more than 100 hours. The study groups were formed in two ways. First, the researcher invited existing psychodrama groups to participate in this study. Second, the researcher recruited members to form a new group. When every study group ended, the double who was convinced by the protagonist of this psychodrama as a beneficial double was selected to be the respondent of this study. Interview: the selected double then took part in IPR (interpersonal process recall) interview to gain the covert messages of the double. After the IPR interview of the double, the protagonist was invited to check the covert messages of the double and to see what amount of similarity the covert messages of the double were to gain additional research data. The data was analyzed by “content analysis”. Results: The first result is general covert messages of the double, which involves three categories: body level, emotion level, and thinking level, and the results of each level are sorted through the amounts of similarity. The second result is different amounts of similarity of the covert messages of the double, which compares the amounts of the similarity between the double and the protagonist in three different categories and classified into three classifications: high, medium, and low similarity. The last, according to findings of this study, some suggestions are provided to those who are learning to be a proficient double.
