The study contains the content and literature review of employee background, job satisfaction, and job morale, as well as the influence of different employee background variables on job satisfaction and job morale. The study also analyzes the extent of correlation between job satisfaction and job morale, and explores the predictive abilities of job satisfaction for job morale. This study uses employees working at an international tourist hotel in Taichung as research subjects. Literature review and structured questionnaires are used to understand the differences caused by employee backgrounds in terms of job satisfaction and job morale, and further clarify the correlation between employee satisfaction and job morale. The questionnaires were constructed based on scales by scholars; the content includes job satisfaction questionnaire, job morale questionnaire, and personal data of employees. After surveying the 367 employees at the hotel, 280 valid questionnaires were retrieved. After statistical analysis, it was found that: 1. This study finds that employees at the hotel feel a normal level of actual overall job satisfaction; their satisfaction for interpersonal relationships was highest, and relatively low for salaries and benefits. 2. Employees at the hotel have good actual job morale, relatively high. 3. Differences in employee background result in differences in job satisfaction and job morale; age and marital status show significant differences in terms of job satisfaction and job morale. The variables of gender, education, number of years served, job level, and department do not show significant differences for job satisfaction and job morale. 4. There is a significant positive correlation between job satisfaction and job morale, and the predictive powers of job satisfaction for job morale show that four aspects of “the work itself,” “interpersonal relationships,” “supervisor leadership,” and “work environment” have the best combined predictive effects for job morale. “The work itself” has the greatest predictive power.
