| Summary: | 碩士 === 東吳大學 === 社會學系 === 98 === This paper attempts to outlining the political theology as the transcendent role of the public sphere of the theologians Tillich (Paul Tillich, 1886 ~ 1964) through the Ontology Paradigm of political theology . Based on this foundation, a dialogue with Adorno (Theodor W. Adorno, 1903 ~ 1969) of Frankfurt School who plays as a highly paradoxical relationship with Tillich is being developed. As a matter of fact, Tillich was once the doctoral dissertation advisor of Adorno, but both has a completely different thought of ontology, the former constructed ontology as the basis of theology, whereas the latter has severely criticized the ontology as the plight of First Philosophy. In fact, the ontology does not necessarily exist in opposing with one another, but the doubts and criticism of Adorno has highlighted the possibility of the dynamic nature of Tillich‘s ontological interpretation.
The ideas of public sphere of Tillich’s dynamic ontology is applied into the political reality of Taiwan and the most active religious organizations - Presbyterian Church in Taiwan as a case study. Based on Tillich’s ontology paradigm of political theology, the " Theology of Contextualization" held by the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan as an ultimate motto is being discussed and criticized. Finally, in conclusion, this paper attempts to place Taiwan in a global context so that the future of the " Theology of Contextualization" will be constructed from the supranational idea to Tillich dialectical utopian idea.
