碩士 === 東吳大學 === 音樂學系 === 98 === Abstract The purpose of this thesis is to analyze skills and development of Yangqin music in recent China. The skills and performance of Yangqin is discussed from the view point of Musicology theory; furthermore, a theory of “Performance”, “Composition”, and “Discourse” is provided. There are five chapters in this thesis. Chapter One focuses on the purpose and methodology of the research related to skills and performances of Yangqin music in recent China. Chapter Two discusses the historic background and development of traditional Yangqin in China. Chapter Three is centered on the improvement and development of Yangqin and further discusses social background and shape improvement of Yangqin. Chapter Four aims to analyze skills of Yangqin in recent China, from the heritage of folk and traditional music to the content of music. Chapter Five further analyzes skills of Yangqin, from the inheritance of skills, performance terminology, methods of holding hammers and developments of arts of performing Yangqin to the application of this instrument. Final chapter includes the general development of Yangqin in recent China and emphasizes on social background, academic studies, and innovation of works. The drawing of the scores of the examples in the thesis fulfills accurate requirements, and the scores are marked in accordance with actual performance. Unlike simplified scores, the analysis of the scores in this thesis is accurate in order to be used for reference.
