碩士 === 東吳大學 === 歷史學系 === 98 === At the last few years of Ming dynasty, when the changes of dynasties were going to happen, the Ching dynasty wiped out the Ming dynasty and strengthened their controls of political powers. Chiu-Da-Jun, got involved in revolt against the Ching government, was strongly influenced by his encounters in the aspect of his personality and temperament. Chiu insisted not to serve in Ching dynasty for all of his life. His experience affected his choice,and also his literary works. Guangdong Xin Yu was wrote and edited in this background. First, I want to work on Chiu-Da-Jun’s life in the text. By analyzing these events poignantly and knowing his experiences, I then had a chance to understand his thoughts. Second, his motives of writing this book is also discussed in this essay. Since his life experiences had influenced his writing style, Guangdong Xing Yu can refelct this fact all in all. Finally, I want to analyze this book briefly.The book has shown that Guangdong’s social condition and market economy’s development at that time. What did this milieu influence on the development of Guangdong area? The three major points mentioned above are what I want to discuss in this essay.
