In this work, A NTU-MV cell line derived from Maruca vitrata, was used to ascertain for the development of serum-free medium.
From this ststistical analysis, glucose、glutamine、yeastolate、protein A、lipid、pluronic F-68、lactalbumine were identified as important determinants for cell growth. The adaptation period from convention 5% FBS to SFM was spent about 2000 hrs. The MaviMNPV productivity of MV cell line cultured with serum-free medium was the same with that cultured with conventional serum medium. Subsequently, the composion concentrations of serum-free medium were optimized using the Taguchi methods.
