And Engstrom and Westerberg (2003) mentioned some individuals are short of the necessary ability to make their own pension investment decisions. The purpose of this research will appraise the performance of individual investment policy for retirement. Because return-on-investment, risks, taxation etc must be considered in making investment policy choices, the methodology of this article will apply the analytic hierarchy process (AHP)(Saaty, 1980), which is a multi-criteria decision making technique and fuzzy analytic hierarchy process(FAHP) which considers fuzziness and uncertainty in mankind’s thoughts (Buckley, 1985).The analytic hierarchy process is to be used to establish quantitative and qualitative criteria and design a framework of an assessment method for evaluating individual investment policy performance in this research.
