The relation between music and politics is on the land of Taiwan packed with political ideology, it seems that it is difficult to separate it clearly. Taiwan is after 1970’s and to declare martial law ended, because the changes of the political environment and awakening of the political ideology of musical creator, make appearances of various kinds of campaign songs and become the characteristic of campaigns. Campaign songs are the products of political ideology, it is the peculiar symbol of campaigns, and through broadcasting to become an emblem of campaign opinion and political ideology. It is not only to contact the emotions of voters, but also express current situation of society and the demands of masses at the same time, and then set up the unique atmosphere of politics. Discussion of this article focuses on the Taiwan presidential campaign in 2008’s, Hsieh(Democratic Progressive Party)and Ma camps(Kuomintang) how to use the campaign songs, through the diversity of marketing strategies, such as propaganda vehicles, media advertising and political rallies, etc., to run politic ideology clearly and help Image making of political candidates. These songs not only accord with demands of campaign opinion, and with easy to understand lyrics and catchy melodies, which provide Campaign headquarter to grasp the pace of the campaign to enhance people to get depth knowledge of political parties and candidates to stimulate voters’ participation of enthusiasm in politics, in addition, for the major issue of social situation, such as economic issues, the sensitive issue of ethnic identity and national ideology, are actively being reflected in the lyrics. The use of campaign songs, so that the election atmosphere has the effect of positive change, given the community hope and positive values, it is the record of the times, but also the reflection of contemporary social issues in order to further understanding of subtle and complex relation with campaigns culture, the environment of society and ideology in Taiwan.
