Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺南藝術大學 === 古物維護研究所 === 98 === The thesis is taking the conservation of the historical architecture of Chulien Temple in Hsinchu City as a research object. Nowadays, the reports of conservation are based on the cultural heritage preservation law, collecting necessary archives only. However, there are no complete records to describe the techniques and procedures of artisans but only pictures before and after treatment. The conservation reports are part of history which helps people appreciate the precious of historic monuments. The conservation reports are important not only for its research value, but also references for next conservation projects. Therefore, we need explicit investigation and documentation including text reports, pictures and mapping before and after conservation to help us record “history” and ”authenticity” of historic monuments.
This thesis collected and generalized relative conservation engineering reports and theses to give references for following conservation work. Secondly, this paper discussed the theories and manners of European conservation reports.
