The creation of healthy city and development of community issues－Shuangsi Township, Taipei County as an example

碩士 === 東南科技大學 === 防災科技研究所 === 98 === The purpose of this study aims to achieve the establishment of “a healthy, happy Taipei County” and the realization of “a healthy lifestyle,” “social security,” “high-quality environment.” The project includes the discovery of the expectations and needs of county citizens through community participation, cross-sector consolidation, the evaluation of the health condition, as well as the formation of healthy public policy. The research was divided into three stages: Since 2006, Shuangsi Township has been involved in the preliminary preparations for building a healthy city, to encouragement of county citizen participation and the understanding of citizens’ expectations; At the start of the 2007 fiscal year, based on the fundamental information gathered, the township began actual planning and execution, and completed the identification and surveying of the resource points of community organizations. To achieve that goal, 2008, the township government held activities and accumulated funds from local organizations, private enterprises, academic institutions, governmental organizations, medical institutions and enthusiastic citizens to found the “Healthy City Promotion Association.” The result shown three principle goals and its related issues were established, including: Environment and Ecology; Social Security; and Healthy Lifestyle. The committee is a non-governmental organization whose purpose is to obtain the approval of “the Alliance for Healthy Cities”. It is proposed that through the participation in the Alliance Shuangsi Township could display and share experiences of promoting a healthy city as well as develop friendships with other cities.
