Two questionnaires designed by the author were utilized for data collection including (a) demographic information sheet; (b) high school volleyball players’ paternalistic leadership of coaches scale (c) high school volleyball players’ team cohesion scale. The sample was 300 high school volleyball players. From the survey returned, 244 were coded for players. Descriptive statistics, independent sample T-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe’s meta-analysis, Pearson’s product-moment correlation coefficient for data analysis. The results indicated that (a) high school volleyball players show higher acceptance toward coaches’ democratic behaviors than authoritarian behaviors on paternalistic leadership of coaches; high school volleyball players with higher level of squad adaptability and have the lowest scores on interpersonal fascination on team cohesion; (b) the significant differences were found on coaches’ leading behaviors by gender, type of school, study in physical education class and position of team; (c) the significant differences were found on team cohesion by gender, type of school and study in physical education class; (d) high school volleyball players’ paternalistic leadership of coaches and team cohesion are positively related.
