Summary:碩士 === 雲林科技大學 === 環境與安全工程系碩士班 === 98 === A Study on Portable Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS) on Real Time Analysis Student:Chun-Yi Huang Advisors:Chao-Yin Kuo Institute of Environmental and Safety Health Engineering National Yunlin University of Science & Technology ABSTRACT This study used a portable gas chromatograph mass spectrometer (p-GC/MS) and desktop gas chromatograph mass spectrometer (d-GC/MS), to compare the difference in calibration curve of toxic substances. This study finished the calibration curves of cumene, 1,2-dichloroethane and benzene using the loop mode of p-GC/MS and the R2 showed 0.998, 0.995 and 0.996, respectively. Moreover, the results of calibration curve for ppb level using the concentration mode of p-GC/MS indicated that R2 of benzene was 0.998. In addition, the calibration curves of cumene and dimethyl formamide were established by d-GC/MS and the R2 showed 0.997 and 0.995. Both p-GC/MS and d-GC/MS, the relative errors were all within the ± 20% and fitted the standard method in Taiwan NIEA-PA103 guideline. The detection limits of cumene, 1,2-dichloroethane and benzene were 0.5 ppm, 0.3 ppm and 0.5 ppm, respectively using loop mode of p-GC/MS and 5.4 ppb for benzene using concentration mode of p-GC/MS the mode. Then, comparison with all quantitative analysis using calibration method and semi-quantitative analysis using conversion of internal standard, the margin of error was about 5-10% and indicate the useful method using conversion of internal standard. In the study, the p-GC/MS showed the advantages were small size, light weight, mobility, operating temperature range wide, and not impact of water vapor.
