System centric approaches are traditional ones which attempt to optimize system-wide measure of performance such as overall throughput of the system. On the other hand, user centric approaches concentrate on providing maximum utilization to the users of the system based on their QoS requirements. Nevertheless, an efficient allocation of users'' services to providers'' resources is a dynamic and complex task, where software agent decision on market-based resource provisioning, information processing and resource allocation will be helpful. Here we employ an allocation mechanism and pricing mechanism based users’ centric approach to optimally allocate resources in a cloud computing market environment. Buyer and service provider agents determine their bid and ask prices using k-pricing which sets the cleaning price individually for each matched buyer-service provider pair. The resource allocation in the market environment could be optimal using genetic algorithm for the central entity choosing the allocation and with respect to a suitable aggregation of the preferences over the bundled services received by the individual agents in the cloud computing environment. Two mechanisms are proposed that aim at aligning the individual participants’ goal of utility maximization across all participating users and providers (i.e., welfare).
