This study is to focus on:
1.Collecting the literature relating to knowledge management, internet resource and faculty professional growth.
2.Exploring the situation of the internet resources employed by primary school teachers in Taoyuan County.
3.Understanding the current status of knowledge management and faculty professional growth of primary school teachers in Taoyuan County.
4.Analyzing the discrepancy and the relationship of faculty professional growth through internet resource application between different variables of primary school teachers in Taoyuan County.
5.Setting forth the conclusions and concrete suggestions serving as a reference of educational administrative organization, school unit, teachers and future research researching promoting faculty professional growth.
This study is to engage in a research through the literature review method and questionnaire survey, aiming the research objectives at public primary school teachers in Taoyuan County and having drawn a 93.6% availability of a return of 470 copies of effective questionnaire from 502 samples. The research tool of this study is the questionnaire survey for the promotion of professional capacity of primary school teachers through the application of internet resources via a channel of knowledge management. The statistical methods employed in this study include descriptive statistics, independent samples t-test and one-way ANOVA. Based on the result of research analysis, there are several discoveries to be drawn below:
1.The item of the faculty’s highest use in the internet resources is “Search Engine”.
2.“From the viewpoint of teachers, the greatest assistance for improving teaching competency and research development is “Search Engine”; for improving classroom management and student counseling is “Education Related Website”; and for interpersonal communication is “Electronic Mail”.
3.The top frequency of the internet resources used by primary school teachers in Taoyuan County through a channel of knowledge management is “Knowledge Transfer”.
4.The promotion of professional capacity of primary school teachers in Taoyuan County through the internet resources shows excellent.
5.There is obvious discrepancy in the application of internet resources through a channel of knowledge management between faculty groups with different sex, position, service length, size of school and individual blog.
6.There is obvious discrepancy in the promotion of faculty professional capacity through the internet resources between faculty groups with different sex, position, educationally professional background, size of school and individual blog.
According to the research findings mentioned above, this study is to set forth the suggestions from the perspective of education administration organization, school unit, teachers and future research as below:
1.Education administration organization
(1)To establish faculty’s social web to encourage teachers to manage their individual blogs.
(2)The optimal school size is the medium- or small-scale school.
2.School unit
(1)Teachers with different length of service can be averagely assigned to the same grade.
(2)To open the information learning program for female faculty and staff personnel.
3.Teachers
(1)To establish the concept of lifelong learning for continuously improving faculty’s professional capacities.
(2)To try to take over an administrative position.
4.Future research
(1)In the research variables: It is feasible to increase other research variables and to further explore the interaction relationship between the variables.
(2)In the research structure and research hypothesis: To increase the Research Hypothesis 3 and to contrast it with other hypotheses.
