Based on the findings of the previous research [17], we have continued the research and propose an enhancement in processing speed and transcoding quality. The method includes: (1) avoiding unnecessary pixel decoding, and directly calculating the correct predictive value from the coefficient values within the DCT block, which can significantly save the processing time and memory space; and (2) deriving an revised matrix to reduce the differences of DCT between JPEG and H.264.
