Both the UWB and DVB-T signals are orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation waveforms. A novel UWB channel measurement approach based on chirp pulse sounding signal in an automotive vehicle is proposed. The chirp pulse sounding signal can improve the accuracy of the Gaussian pulse sounding signal to measure the channel impulse response (CIR) of the UWB channel. The measured root mean square (RMS) delay spread and the power delay profile (PDP) of the UWB channel are the same as the values shown in IEEE UWB channel model. Also, test results show that opening the vehicle’s window may change the channel characterization. Moreover, the DVB-T signal measurement in the DTV frequency band of 530~536MHz、542~548 MHz、566~572 MHz、554~560MHz、572~578 MHz and 590~596 MHz divided in 6 bands is carried out using Tektronix RSA-6100A spectrum analyzer. The characteristics of the measured DVB-T signals are compared with the specifications listed in the IEEE standard.
