It is used widely as cutting tools for machining hard and brittle materials. Diamond tools are more widely used in the field of ultra-precision cutting and grinding. This paper describes the properties of diamond and method of making diamond tools. And to compare the brazing characteristics of three different types of diamond. This research was compared the single-crystal diamond (Pure-D), titanium coated diamond (Ti-D) and black boron diamond (BBD) at different brazing temperatures and different holding time to discuss brazing strength of the diamond and stainless steel substrate , the quality of diamond brazed and whether to induced the bond crack. The experimental results showed that single-crystal diamond (Pure-D) in the holding time was 20min and 25min conditions, the better range of brazing temperature are 1030-1045℃ and 1015-1020℃, titanium coated diamond (Ti-D) in the holding time are 20min and 25min conditions, the better range of brazing temperature are 1030-1055℃and 1015-1030℃, black boron diamond (BBD) in the holding time are 20min and 25min conditions, the better range of brazing temperature are 1015-1030℃and 1015-1020℃.
