The sol-gels, as-burnt powers and the final powers of the cobalt-nickel ferrite were characterized by XRD, FT-IR,SEM and VSM. The microwave absorption properties of β-SiC/ spinel ferrite/ nano carbon tube or nano carbon black/rubber composites were measured by the Vector Net-work Analyzer. Our results indicated that the highest saturated magnetization (Ms), the highest remanent magnetization (Mr), and the coercivity (Hc) of the spinel Co0.6Ni0.4Fe2O4 after heating at 900℃ were 109.35(emu/g), 46.291(emu/g), and 747.470(Oe), respectively.In addition , the composite materials,with the thickness of 2.0 mm , prepared by mixing 50g of β-SiC , 7.5g of Co0.6Ni0.4Fe2O4 , 2.5g carbon black, and 40g rubber,exhibited a reflection loss of -32.8 dB within the freguency range of 10.24 GHz to 11.19 GHz.
