The study of water relaxation of superparamagnetic iron oxide labeled cell

碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 化學暨生物化學研究所 === 99 === Water in different environment causes various T1 and T2 relaxation in magnetic resonance (MR) measurements. However, if the MR properties in the adjacent tissues are similar, it is difficult for MRI to identify the different tissues. Therefore, the contrast ag...

However, if the MR properties in the adjacent tissues are similar, it is difficult for MRI to identify the different tissues. Therefore, the contrast agent is one of the solutions, e.g. superparamagnetic iron oxide (SPIO). The SPIO-labeled cells show a significant different T2 relaxation from those without the labeling. The signal of SPIO-labeled cell can be differentiated from that of free SPIOs. In this study, to clarify the relaxation mechanism induced by SPIO, in vitro experiments were performed. Carcinoma cell was used and add SPIO for labeling. SPIO-labeled cells were place in 1% agarose gel for fixing during NMR measurement. By analysis of T1 and T2 relaxation rate of the SPIO labeled cells, the water dynamics in the SPIO-labeled cells were found and give a clue for further studies. In this study, we also proposed a theoretical model to simulated to water relaxation around SPIO-labeled cellular environments and results indicates that the restricted diffusion of water molecules results in the relaxation reduction. The ratio of SPIO inside and outside the cells may affect the relaxation properties. Hwang, Dennis W. 黃聖言 2011 學位論文 ; thesis 82 zh-TW
