This paper investigates the extent to which social capital and SES enhance subjective well-being, including overall life satisfaction, perceived health, percieved mental health, and social isolation. Respondents for this research completed a random door-to-door survey in Nanhua District of Tainan City, with a 2.08% response rate (n = 186).   The research conclusions are as the followings: 1.Although people’s living conditions were objectively bad, they showed high level in overall life satisfaction, perceived health, perceived mental health, and less social isolation. 2.People feeling less financial pressure, more social network, men, or married, experience overall life satisfaction, perceived health, perceived mental health, and less social isolation. 3.Four subjective indicators are related to one another, and Age, SES and social capital factors are associated with SWB. 4.social capital (contact levels with others, trust with interpersonal relationships, community experience, and safty), SES(work, educational years, numbers of children), sex, and married have significant difference in overall life satisfaction, percieved health, percieved mental health, and less social isolation.
