The relationships among disease awareness, self-care behavior, and life quality in rheumatoid arthritis patients

碩士 === 長庚大學 === 護理學系 === 99 === The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship among knowledge of disease, self-care behavior and quality of life of the patients with rheumatoid arthritis in order to predict the variable significant factors associated with self-care behavior and quality of life. From August ,2009 to January,2011, there are 105 cases collected. A questionnaire was constructed for this study including personal demography, health assessment, disease knowledge, self care behavior and the data was analyzed by using the SPSS 12 packaged statistical software. Major findings were as follows：Subjects of the study showed that disease knowledge were related to age. Education, social economic level and Health disability level. Subjects of the study showed that the average score of self-care behavior was 33.00，the change situations in 6 months was more and more bad. That self-care were related to education, falling ill years, disease activity, health disability level and disease knowledge. Disease activity, health disability level, falling ill years and diseaseknowledge explained 52.1% of the total amount of variance in self-care behavior. The best forecast factor was the heavy of disease activity,explained 28.8% of the total amount of variance in self-care behavior. Subjects of the study showed that satisfaction of degree was 2.76, the standardized score of quality of life was 28.57, the change situations in 6 months was more and more bad. Falling ill years, disease acitvity , health disability level, disease knowledge and self-care were related to quality of life 58% of the total amount of variance in quality of life. The best forecast factor was the self-care, explained 48.9% of the total amount of variance in quality of life. The findings of this study can give guidance to nurses in developing stage-specific interventions and providing individual therapeutic information such as NSAID of effect or how to apply a local cold compress or a hot packing in pain to patients and their families. Regarding the patients of disease activity high and health disability level high, should provide the auxiliary of life early. It is hope to enhance the self-care behavior and quality of life of the patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
