Summary:碩士 === 中華大學 === 建築與都市計畫學系碩士班 === 99 === ABSTRACT This research explores the field of eco-museum, traditional settlement, cultural landscape, touring and recreation, and industrial strategic planning to trigger local redevelopment, which incorporates the eco-museum and cultural landscape as a redevelopment strategy for traditional settlement. The eco-museum, a concept of community museum including physical facilities, local industries and open spaces with locale residential collective memory, is applied within a traditional settlement to enrich the structure change and improvement, both social, and industrial. And thus eco-museum makes it a niche for local authorities to pursue. This research is applied with liture review, questionnaire and in-depth interview. The result of the research indicates that the “eco-museum” may prove a workable strategy to enhance the local competitiveness for a traditional settlement undergoing the pressure of urbanization. With the introduction of eco-museum to arise real output and local industries, the basic facilities of daily life for the residents and physical performance have to be enriched first, followed by the completeness of ecology resouces of the settlement, and finally the fruitfulness of public facilities and unique activities.
