Six aspects are analyzed within this research, including the understanding of traffic regulations, the cognition of vehicles and using of safety equipment, the ability of dealing with contingency, the understanding of how to deal with the traffic accident and first aid, the cognition of importance, and teaching behavior. The purpose contains: 1. To know the degree of cognition of traffic safety toward the elementary school teacher in Taichung. 2. To discuss the attitude of traffic safety education toward the elementary school teacher in Taichung. 3. To know the relationship between the cognition of traffic safety education and the attitude of traffic safety education among the elementary school in Taichung. This article uses “the questionnaires of cognition of traffic safety” and “the scale of the attitude of traffic safety education”. With the sampling of the elementary school in coastal area of Taichung, 372 pieces of questionnaires are sent and 26 schools are sampled. 346 pieces of questionnaires are retrieved. The data analysis includes Relative Frequency Distribution, Percentage, Average, Standard Deviation, T-Test, One-Way ANOVA, Scheffe method, and Pearson's Product_moment Correlations. According to the conclusion: 1. 68.9% of the elementary school teacher can give the right answer, which means there are still some improvements for the cognition of traffic safety toward the elementary school teacher. Besides, there are only 56.6% of the teacher can give the right answer about the traffic regulation, which shows the necessary of enhance for the knowledge. 2. The elementary school teacher have positive attitude toward traffic safety. For those teachers who have evaluated, or established the time of illustration, or held some relative activities, and so on, they would have more aggressive and positive attitude. 3. The teacher would have good attitude of traffic safety if school have provided some relative items or support about traffic safety. 4. For the elementary school teacher, the cognition of traffic safety has no relationship with the attitude of traffic safety.
