During the care process, fever is a common health care issue of children, and is also one of the symptoms concerned by caregivers when children suffer from any illness. The purpose of this study is to investigate the current status of kindergarten teachers’ knowledge, attitude, and behavior for children’s fever and relevant affecting factors. The research population was kindergarten teachers in Taichung City, UsingSample size calculator software was used to calculate the sample size .Questionnaires were proportionally distributed according to the proportions of administrative divisions. Stratified random sampling method was used to select teachers to complete the questionnaires individually. The research tools included demographic data and questionnaires such as Scale on Knowledge of Children’s Fever, Five-point Scale on Attitude towards Children’s Fever, and Five-point Scale on Behavior for Children’s Fever. The questionnaire survey was conducted from October to November 2010, and a total of 322 valid questionnaires were returned, and SPSS 12.0 was used to conduct statistical analyses. According to the statistical results, the average age of kindergarten teachers in Taichung City was 34.47 and the average years of service was 10.46. As for level of education, more than 70% of them were college graduates. Approximately 50% of them were single and 50% of them were married. 50% of them did not have any child, while 50% of them had child. Only 5.9% of them indicated that they had participated in children’s fever-related courses. Kindergarten teachers’ average score of knowledge of children’s fever was 0.57 point for each item, failing to reach the 60 percentile. The average score of attitude was 2.99 points, suggesting that kindergarten teachers have a neutral attitude towards the care for children suffering from fever. The average score of behavior was 3.66 points per item, suggesting that the frequency of fever care behavior is not low. It was found that, there is a positive correlation among kindergarten teachers’ knowledge, attitude, and behavior for children’s fever. In terms of the care for children’s fever, the priority should be given to the increase in knowledge. It is advised that, besides the provision of instruction, the opportunity of practical operation and sharing of care experience can be included in kindergarten teachers’ educational program or in-service educational courses to improve their knowledge, attitude, and behavior for children’s fever. It is hoped that children’s health can be further improved through kindergarten teachers. Fu-hui Lee 李復惠 2011 學位論文 ; thesis 154 zh-TW
