Description
Summary:碩士 === 中原大學 === 商業設計研究所 === 99 === In the past, book design was primarily concerned with whether the cover is aesthetically pleasing; on the whole, it was limited to superficial visual aesthetics. However, book design involves the process of information transmission from the author to the reader, while the designer acts as a bridge of communication between the two. Thus, the planning of design must consider the holistic character of the external (form) and internal (essence) of the book, so that readers can enjoy the pleasure of reading through sight, touch, smell, hearing, and taste. Additionally, the basic content of books extends from text, and from the literary form, it is possible to understand that in the new poetry literary form, the use of words, the arrangement of words in lines, and the creation of imagery are all powerful in their visual aesthetic. For these characteristics, this study will explore their connection to visual design. The creation in this study uses these as fundamental concepts to propose combining the perspective of Crescent Moon Society poets’ new poetry aesthetics (musical, painting, and architectural characters) and visual design elements (texts, images, colors, materials), and to realize them in practice in follow-up creation of poetry compilations, and to blend in the poets’ poetic works into the necessary elements of form, colors, paper materials, and text layout of the books. Using the aesthetic perspective of new poetry to consider the possibilities of the design and appearance of poetry compilations can provide designers with a different thought path when they engage in book design. It is hoped that books and design can be incorporated into the experience of reading, so there can be a re-examination of the taste and delight that can be brought by books into people’s lives.
