碩士 === 朝陽科技大學 === 休閒事業管理系碩士班 === 99 === Abstract The purpose of this study is to explore the current status of the attitude toward traveling, pressure in life, and traveling motivation of the elderly, and the cause-and-effect relationships between them. Therefore, the research subjects were the elderly from the Taipei City Evergreen School Academy. 420 questionnaires were issued with 397 being retrieved. The response rate is 95%. Statistical analyses methods such as descriptive statistics, ANOVA, and regression analysis were applied to analyze the data. The results of this study are summarized below: 1. Generally speaking, the elderly had stronger attitude toward and high traveling motivation while their pressure in life is normal. 2. In the aspect of the variables related to individual background, the elderly of different “genders” and “educational backgrounds” were significantly different in their attitude toward traveling. 3. In the aspect of the variables related to individual background, the elderly of different “ages”, “educational backgrounds”, “marital statuses”, and “economic sources” were significantly different in their traveling motivation. 4. In the aspect of the variables related to individual background, the elderly of different “genders”, “educational backgrounds”, “economic sources”, and “occupation (current or before retirement)” were significantly different in their pressure in life. 5.There was a significant and positive relationship between attitude toward traveling and traveling motivation. In other words, stronger attitude toward traveling led to higher traveling motivation. However, the relationship between pressure in life and traveling motivation was not statistically significant. A possible reason is that when the elderly feel pressure in their lives, going on a trip was not how they release their pressure. According to the results of this study, some suggestions were provided regarding the elderly and future follow-up studies. It is hoped that, through the results of this study, attitude toward traveling, pressure in life, and traveling motivation of the elderly can be more understood as the reference for future policy planning for senior citizens.
