Description
Summary:碩士 === 大葉大學 === 管理學院碩士在職專班 === 99 === This study adopts the elementary school teams participating in 2011 National Tug-of-War Tournament as the subject, aimed at discovering the correlation among coach leadership, team spirit, performance, and athlete satisfaction by means of questionnaire survey. According to the study results, among different background variables like gender, grade, duration of training, and social and economic status, the variable of gender demonstrates a significant difference in autocratic behavior, teamwork, and individual satisfaction, while the other variables don’t. On the other hand, the variable of grade is the only factor demonstrating significant difference in autocratic behavior. As for the elements of coach leadership, all have a significantly positive relationship with group satisfaction and coach satisfaction except for autocratic behavior. Besides, team spirit has positive effects on athlete satisfaction, while athlete performance determines athlete satisfaction and sports achievement. However, regarding coach satisfaction, only group goal is positively related. In terms of the predictor of athlete satisfaction, “sports achievement,” “interpersonal popularity,” “democratic behavior,” and “group adjustment” can predict an athlete’s individual satisfaction significantly. When it comes to group satisfaction, “sports achievement,” “interpersonal affinity,” “group adjustment,” and “democratic behavior” can help predict significantly. As for the predictor of coach satisfaction, there are six aspects reaching significance: “group adjustment,” “sports achievement,” “caring behavior,” “autocratic behavior,” “teamwork,” and “group goal.” It is suggested that coaches may adjust their leadership in accordance with different scenarios. Besides, they are encouraged to set specific goals, participate in more games, increase the sense of self-recognition to improve their athletic skills. Moreover, coaches may adopt feasible strategies such as one-on-one communication, individual counseling, predecessors’ guidance and experience exchange to encourage athletes and to care about their inner thoughts along with physical and mental development so that the team may be more involved in the sports. In addition, coaches should integrate their personal goals with those of their teams so that the teams they lead will be more determined to achieve the desired goal. On the other hand, units related to tug-of-war are suggested to hold seminars and workshops concerning the psychologically professional skills of tug-of-war along with the tactics of managing a team’s momentum so that coaches are able to understand their trainees more to lead their teams to success.
