| Summary: | 碩士 === 大葉大學 === 設計暨藝術學院碩士在職專班 === 99 === This thesis investigates the effect of hosiery industry on the ways of residents’ working in Sheh-tou township in Taiwan. I interview the members of hosiery union by using qualitative survey. According to the related literatures and the results of dictation, I not only collect and arrange the developmental process of hosiery industry in Sheh-tou township, but also record the evolution, features, manpower usage of hosiery technology. Also, this study analyzes the ways of residents’ working in Sheh-tou township. I find the reasons for the change of hosiery industry and the effect of hosiery industry on the ways of residents’ working. Finally, as summarized, this study discusses the interactive relation between the residents and hosiery industry, and the overall community development. The results of this study provide some suggestions and can be used as a reference for future cultural activities.
Results are as follows: the significant characteristic in Sheh-tou township is its community-hosiery industry, which creates economic benefits by vertical division of labor and outsourcing. However, the residents need to sacrifice the living quality since the acquisition of economic benefits in the competitive environment. In the future, more time and efforts must be paid to industrial upgrading, culturize, and brand building. Because the way leads the community and industrial development in a prosperous direction will need the combination and interaction of the hosiery-brand and local industrial culture.
