Klippel system is used to measure the lumped parameters of commercial in-ear earphones. SoundCheck system in an anechoic chamber is also used to measure the sound pressure level of earphones. Based on a lumped-parameter method, the influence of closed or open of the front or back vent holes, paper screens, earplug types and wire screens on the performance of the in-ear earphones is investigated. To simulate human acoustic impedance presented in the ear canal, B&K HATS (Head and Torso Simulator) is used for the testing of in-ear earphones. The influence of the ear canal is considered in the development of the equivalent circuit model of the in-ear earphones to improve the accuracy of analysis.
