The way to solve for extreme values in linear programming replies heavily on the simplex method, the calculation method for working out many problems in operations research. The first half of this paper establishes some mathematical models for problem solving. Based on the fundamental ideas of the simplex method, the Lindo program is used as a software tool to solve problems with the established mathematical models. Furthermore, linear programming is also applied in single-goal system optimization. Though the best solution can be found with linear programming dealing with single-goal system optimization, it is not the best method for system optimization. Therefore this paper recommends the De Novo scheme, a very effective method for optimizing a system; chapter three of this paper will discuss the calculation methods and its reasons of the De Novo scheme. In conclusion, the paper will analyze three multiple-goal situations for multiple-goal system optimization, and methods for solving problems regarding multiple-goal system optimization according to the three situations.
