However, under increasing fierce competition, Taiwan textile industry is forced to transform in order to breakthrough bottleneck and strengthen competitive advantage in the global market. To gain more understanding in market demands, most textile companies in Taiwan usually have to spend a large amount of money to conduct market research. In this case, if textile companies can undertake a research with the assistance of public information, they are expected to save considerable cost. In this study, we take American denim fabric market as an example, analyzing the resources acquired from the database of U.S. Census Bureau, combining with other free public information in related official organizations. We attempt to collect the related variables which may influence sales, use regression analysis and time series to identify correlation between independent and dependent variables.
