The Influence of Technology Readiness, Computer Self-efficacy and Computer Anxiety for Older Adult on Behavioral Intention to Use AVOD

碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 餐旅管理學系碩士班 === 99 === This research aims to study the influence of technology readiness for older adults based on their behavioral intentions. Research tools used in this survey included measurement of computer self-efficacy for older adults, their computer self-efficacy, technology readiness, and their computer anxieties. Targeting order adults age ranging from age 55 to 64 who have previous travel and experienced AVOD systems. The research issued approximately 500 questionnaires, of which 322 were effectively responded. Information collected was then processed by the SPSS17.0 Statics program suite based on the methodology of descriptive statistic, as well as correlation and stepwise regression analyses. Results showed, in terms of technology readiness sub-dimensions: optimism and innovative has a positive correlation with the willingness to use AVOD system. On the other hand, computer anxiety has a negative correlation to elderlies’ willingness to use AVOD systems. Stepwise regression, in addition, showed there are four factors that determines elderly in their willingness to use AVOD systems. Most influential factor is computer self-efficacy, furthermore, positive survey feedbacks regarding technology readiness, willingness to be computer self-efficient, leads to positive attitude and willingness to use AVOD systems. The research also revealed that technology readiness sub-dimensions of for those ages 55-64 also plays a lack of role in their willingness to use AVOD system. Such dimensions includes lack of comforts, lack of self-esteems and insecurities does not necessary conclude the desire to use AVOD system for elderly, therefore, such sub-dimensions are erased or disregarded from stepwise regression as they do not fully support or oppose the willingness to use AVOD system, This research focus on its results and expands its data for major airlines, to serve as a reference for future improvements.
