Summary: | 碩士 === 華梵大學 === 建築學系碩士班 === 99 === This study is aimed at understanding the “Process and Decision-Making Focus of Developing a New School Campus at its advance planning stage” for Taipei CityYongjian elementary school. Moreover, the study explores whether the decision-making process was consistent with users’ expectation. The considerations of developing a new school campus are very wide and deep. If the planning and decision-making can meet with the users’ expectation, the development process could be more efficient and effective. It could also accelerate the construction of the campus. As a result, a significant amount of time and money can be saved. The study as such can be used as a reference for schools administrators, authorities, research scholars when developing new school campus.
In this study, we explained the details of Yongjian elementary school current status, the process of fighting for the land for its new campus, and its direction, advance planning, and decision-making focuses. We then highlighted, from the user's point of view, the preservation of old and new school links and space images, and analyzed its advance planning of new school campus whether in line with user expectations.
The area and the scope are limited to Taipei City Yongjian Elementary School. The survey interviews for this study were conducted with the school’s students, parents, and administrative staffs, which include the principals, directors, teachers, staff members and instructors.
According to the founding of the study, we proposed the following recommendations.

(2) Considering the users’ idea and expectation during the advance panning and decision-making process will form a strong internal consensus of accreditation from educational institution.
(3) For the planning of spacing, consider the Minister of Education’s regulation about elementary school’s basic equipments and the “nine-year teaching standards”.
2. Recommendations for future research
(1) Select more schools for the study to have a comparison of their relocation process and spacing planning
(2) Select more survey samples via including more students and staffs
(3) Select more research subjects to cover more angles
