Summary:碩士 === 玄奘大學 === 國際企業學系碩士班 === 99 === This research examined the correlations between principals’ leadership styles and teachers’ job attitudes in the elementary schools in Nantou County, focusing mainly on four objectives: 1. to examine types of elementary school principals’ leadership styles in NanTou County , 2. to understand teachers’ current job attitudes in Nantou County, 3. to see how different background variables these teachers had affected their perceptions of their respective principal’s leadership style and what differences the variables made in the teachers’ job attitudes, 4. to look into the correlations between the principals’ leadership styles and teachers’ job attitudes in the elementary schools in Nantou County. This research examined the correlations between the principals’ leadership styles and the teachers’ job attitudes in the elementary schools in Nantou County, employing the method of survey that used Stratified Random Sampling to sample different types of schools and Purposive Sampling to sample the number of teachers. 401 formal survey questionnaires were sent to the subjects. 388 of them responded, with a response rate of 96.7%. 374 of the returned questionnaires were effective, with an effective rate of 93.2%. SPSS12.0 for Windows was then used to process the obtained data for statistical analysis by using the Mean, Standard Deviation, Multiple Regression to process the final data. The conclusions are as follow: 1.The elementary school principals’ leadership styles were mostly democratic, some authoritarian, and few laissez-faire. 2.The elementary school teachers current job attitudes showed better job satisfaction and job involvement but less organizational commitment. 3.The teachers with different background variables perceived the elementary school principals’ leadership styles partial significant difference. 4.The teachers with different background variables partial significant difference job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and job involvement. 5.The elementary school principals’ leadership styles and the elementary school teachers’ job attitudes showed strong correlations. 6.The elementary school principals’ different leaderships styles had better Regression Prediction of teachers’ job attitudes. The democratic leadership styles had higher positive prediction, and the authoritarian leadership styles had negative prediction.
