Goals of the study include: 1. Analyze tourist motives for a tour based on differently social and economic background in order to realize the motives generated from travelers with varied backgrounds, and the obstacles of recreation they encounter as well as the discrepancy of their satisfactions; 2. In the processes of making a tour decision, probe the interrelationship between traveling motives, obstacles of recreation and satisfactions; 3. Utilize tourist purchase decision pattern to explore the influences incurred from silver colony tourists with differently social and economic background on their behaviors of selection in traveling motives, recreational disadvantages and satisfactions; 4. Research and draw up suggestions of business strategy point at the factors that effect tourist behavior of purchase decision in purpose of presenting reference to business operator for improvement. The study applies a structural questionnaire survey to undertake data collection with the objects set up at age 50 above population residing in Taipei City, New Taipei City and Taoyuan County; number of effective sample of the survey is 225 pieces showing retrieving rate of effective sample 70%. The statistic and analysis methods adopted in the study are descriptive statistic analysis, factor analysis, one way ANOVA, Pearson's product-moment coefficient and binary logistic analysis. Conclusions of the study are set below: 1. In aspect of silver colony motives for participation in foreign tour: The main purpose of domestic aged people getting in a foreign tour activity is experience and relaxation; 2. In terms of foreign tour obstacle: Personal obstruction reveals to be the largest sake of obstacle to prevent silver colony from joining a foreign tour; 3. In regard of satisfactions to foreign tour: The elemental cause influencing silver colony in participating a foreign tour is internal satisfactions; 4. The motives of enhancing social interaction appear with a positive relation to the obstacle of interpersonal interference; the motives of experience, relaxation, learning and entertainment tender a negative relation to personal obstruction; the internal and external satisfactions are reflected with a positive relation to the three factors of motive as experience and relaxation, encouraging sociability, and learning and entertainment but with a negative relation to personal obstacle; 5. Four variables such as educational degree, experience and relaxation, personal obstacle, and external satisfaction are the critical factors that influence silver colony willingness the most in purchase of a foreign tour. Suggestions of the study: The traveling agents should put stress on the differences emerged from variables of population statistics in motive of participating a foreign tour, recreational obstacle and satisfaction in order to make deliberate considerations upon handling foreign tour schedule and relative marketing campaign so that silver colony willingness of purchase can be successfully uplifted.
