The objects of the research are the patients hospitalized in the case-study institutions. The research methods are mainly based on questionnaires, including the seven perspectives of the variants of demography, social support, and the sense of belongingness. All the questionnaires have been evaluated by experts on their validity and reliability. The reliability of the questionnaire of the sense of belongingness is α=.917,while that of social support is α=.928. All the questionnaires are analyzed on the basis of descriptive and speculative statistics. The researcher has collected 318 questionnaires, among them the valid samples are 262 (the rate of collection is 82.6%), consisting of about 67.7% of the sample group. The result shows that interviewees are basically 173 males (66%) and 89 females (34%); the average age is 51.81±10.1 years. Among them, those who are aged at 51-60 years old are the most (40%). As far as marriage is concerned, those who are single are the most—187 persons (71.4%). There are 103 persons (39.3%) are hospitalized for the first time at their teen and middle ages. There are about 136 persons (51.9%) staying in the institution for 3 to 10 years. There is a statistically big difference between males and females (n=262, p<.001) related to the sense of belongingness and social support. As for marital status, there is no apparent difference related to the perspectives of the sense of belongingness and social support. When analyzing the perspectives of the self-adjustment, institution identity, the recognition and respect, and group reception, the researcher finds that it shows apparent difference in the two aspects of recognition and respect, and group reception at different age levels (p<.001). As far as the perspective analysis of those who are hospitalized for the first time, there is no evident difference among the patients at different ages. The co-efficient of the whole sense of belongingness and social support is .241 (p<.01). It shows positive correlation. And the regression analysis shows positive apparent influence (p<.01). The overall explanatory power is 11.3%. The outcome of the research may supply facts of the sense of belongingness and social support of the current hospitalized patients. It may work as a reference for the administration of the long-term caring institutions so that we may find feasible methods and strategies of promoting the sense of belongingness and social support among all the patients staying in the institutions. none none 陳怡君 翁慧卿 2011 學位論文 ; thesis 90 zh-TW
