碩士 === 開南大學 === 公共事務管理學系 === 99 === Abstract The conception of The Economic District on the West Coast of Taiwan Strait was brought up by Fujian provincial government in 2004 and the scope of The Economic District on the West Coast of Taiwan Strait includes the provinces of Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong. This district has been paid attention by Mainland China Government in recently years. There are many special relationships, such as geographical location, language, culture, historical complex and the consanguinity of the people, between Taiwan and this district. The government of China intends to make this district to be a testing area to integrate the both sides of the Taiwan Strait by initiating the policy of economical development on this area. Once the acceleration of economic activities and the rapid economic growth in this area, an unified political-economic entity between the both side of the Taiwan strait would be possible in the near future. This study focuses on the development of the policy of The Economic District on the West Coast of Taiwan Strait, and aims to analyze the content of policy in order to find the influences on Taiwan.
