Description
Summary:碩士 === 崑山科技大學 === 材料工程研究所 === 99 === Chitin(Ch)grafted poly itaconic acid (IA) was synthesized and characterized to obtain a new adsorbent(Ch-g-PIA)of toxic organic ion such as paraquat, methyl violet, and malachite green etc. The Ch-g-PIA copolymers were prepared at various concentrations of Ce4+、(IA/Ch)ratio and temperature to find the copolymerization recipe of highest grafting percentage by using of traditional technique. The obtained recipes and grafting percentage of copolymer are 0.1M [Ce4+]、2.0(IA/Ch)ratio、30˚C and 92.9%,respectively. However, the CCD (Center composite design) was also applied to find the optimum recipes in the system. They are 2.79M [Ce4+]、3.0(IA/Ch)ratio and 20˚C. The calculated grafting percentage of copolymer from CCD increases to 116%, which is consistent with the experimental results(116±1%). The grafting copolymerization was confirmed by FT-IR spectra. A representative Ch-g-PIA copolymer was hydrolyzed to a salt type and applied to the adsorption of paraquat etc. The adsorption time to reach equilibrium was about 20 minutes. The adsorption equilibrium data correlate closely with the Langmuir than the Freundlich isotherms. The maximum adsorption capacity, qm, calculated of paraquat is156.8mg/g-adsorbent. This value of paraquat for Ch-g-PIA exceeds those for Fuller’s earth and activated carbon, which are the most common binding agents currently used for paraquat. The results suggest that Ch-g-PIA has potential use as a paraquat adsorbent.
