First, the characteristics of the Soft-Switched Bridgeless Power Factor correction will be analyzed in this thesis. Then, a clear analysis and design criteria is provided for the asymmetrical half-bridge converter using Synchronous Rectifier in order to make the circuit design easier. The asymmetrical half-bridge converter using Synchronous Rectifier has the merits of simple structure, fewer component, lower switch stresses and using the parasitic components to achieve zero-voltage-switching. Finally, the converter is verified using IsSpice software and a prototype 150W AC-DC power converter is implemented. The efficiency of the front stage Soft-Switched Bridgeless Power Factor correction circuit can reach 96.2%, the maximum efficiency of the rear stage asymmetrical half-bridge converter using Synchronous Rectifier is 93.1% and the maximum whole system efficiency is above 89%,and is higher than the current industry specification of 85%.
