Besides, GPRS wireless communication technology was employed for data transmission. The functions of the instrument system include the monitoring and recording of voltage variation, flicker, harmonics, and other power quality indices. We use a voltage, a current probe, and a signal level transformation circuit to produce raw data acquisition module. Then, the voltage and current signal can be processed by the DSP with ADC modules, and the measurement results can be selected to display on an LCD screen by a mini-keyboard. The field power quality data can be stored in a SD card or transferred to a data base server through GPRS Communication, it can also sent to a cell phone via GPRS module. Users can realize the latest situation of power quality by browsing JSP web pages. The prototype was tested in laboratory, and the results validate the feasibility of the system.
