A series of tests is conducted on the wire coil with various section-reduction ratio 0~60%, then with the treatment of different sphereoidized temperature 680~760C. It is revealed experimentally that the cold work of wire-drawing is able to make for spheroidization. The wire-drawing causes the interior defects and the energy stored in the wire, which is able to be released to aid the material spheroidizing as annealing. The more cold-work on the wire makes more carbide breaking and makes carbon spreading in the wire to promote the spheroidization quality. The wire with greater section-reduction ratio is able to be spheroidized with the temperature slightly below AC1. However, when the section-reduction ration is over 40%, the variation of spheroidization is not obvious and furthermore, the hardness and tensile strength are both increased. The spheroidizing temperature of carbon steel wire is ranged between 680 and 760C. When the treating temperature is high, there are more homogenized austenite in the material so that the effect of spheroidization is not obvious. It is revealed experimentally that, for 40ACR wire coil, the spheroidized quality is best when the section-reduction ration is 30~40% and spheroidizing temperature is 740C since the hardness and tensile strength are the smallest. 楊至誠 2011 學位論文 ; thesis 44 zh-TW
