碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 應用統計資訊學系碩士班 === 99 === The rise of solar industry is a new opportunity for Energy Alternative. This industry is probable to replace the dependence on oil. However, the solar industry is restricted by the high cost and researching technology. Although government provide subsidy for the technology of the solar energy industry, the solar cannot substitute for oil. The purpose of this study is examines the gold price and oil price effect on the share prices of solar-energy industries. This study investigates the hypothesized model’s fit of Taiwan solar energy industry stocks by structural equation modeling (SEM). First, we examine the result when the oil price and gold price variables included in the model. Second, we examine the relationship among the variables by applying the time series analysis. Then, we examines whether the variables exist long term equilibrium and to examine the degree of impulse response. Result indicates that not only the price of solar silicon wafer affect the price of solar array and solar module but the oil price and gold price affect solar silicon wafer.
